Tomáš Weiss, Ph.D.

Tomáš Weiss, Head of Department of European Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, graduated in European Studies from the Hamburger Universität für Wirtschaft und Politik (2004) and from the Institute of International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, Prague (2005) where he also completed his Ph.D. studies (2011) and is now lecturing. In 2007 he studied at Pazmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem in Budapest. In 2004 he carried out an internship at the EU Institute for Security Studies in Paris. In the past, he worked as a research fellow at the Institute of International Relations and at the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy both in Prague. In his research, he focuses on the foreign and security policy of the EU and its member states and on transatlantic relations.
